Recently one of my favorite eye shadows fell on the tile floor of our bathroom and instantly turned to a powdery mess. I wanted to cry!
Knowing I am not the only woman that this has ever happened to, I did a little research online of how I might salvage my favorite Creme de Violet Mac eyeshadow.
Although I was looking to keep it as an eye shadow, I found the most amazing tip. Are you ready for this?
Take clear nail polish, add the broken eye shadow, mix and what do you get. . .matte nail polish!
When I found this tip I sadly thought to myself, hmmmm I have a few other eye shadows that might just find themselves broken on the floor.
I've heard of doing this and REALLY want to try it as well! Thanks for the reminder!

How are you feeling?
What a great idea Jamie. Hope all is well with you.
ReplyDeleteDid you mix it in the entire bootle of clear polish?
ReplyDeleteI did.
DeleteI've heard of this, too. Now I'm going to have to try it with one of my 75 (yep, you heard right) eyeshadows. Hmmm...which one to part with..?
ReplyDeleteif that ever happens again you can grab some 99 pefcent rubbing alcohol and mix it around with your compact and let it dry it will dry hard just like you got it.
ReplyDeleteive done this before and made a pretty baby blue... i never use baby blue on my eyes so it all worked out! how did u make it matte jamie?
ReplyDeleteI saw this on pinterest, what a great ideaaaa I'm going to try it!
ReplyDeleteOh, and if you want your eyeshadow back, mix it up with a little of alcohol and put a napkin above it, press it a little with a coin or something and let it dry for a while, it will come back to you!
This shit didnt work and now I wasted a clear nail polish and an eye shadow.
ReplyDeleteI actually tried this today! thought it was a great idea, but the polish got shimmery. How did you make it matte? :)
ReplyDeletetry adding a little corn starch for the matte finish
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! most of the good brand matte nailpolishes are expensive, this is perfect! and so customizable
